Built in 1948, the Ball High school’s stadium is named in honor of the late
Kermit Courville, the district’s first Black athletic director who won five state
championships with Ball High’s track team before his passing in 1992. After
the city had voted to build a new facility, United worked with the design team
to provide an equal product while renovating the existing stadium. This allowed
the school to keep the concrete structure stadium, cordially known as “The
Rock”! United completed structural column and raker beam concrete repairs,
surface spall repairs, full depth tread and riser repairs, followed by a new traffic
coating system with a multi-colored design. The renovated stadium has been
heralded by many as a standout in the community
