Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas, has a long and storied history.
Established during the Republic of Texas in the mid 1800’s, it has played key
roles in multiple significant events and conflicts, including World War I. 1975
Fort Sam Houston was designated a National Historic Landmark, recognizing
its rich historical importance. This designation highlighted the fort’s
contributions to military history and its well-preserved architecture. Buildings
2186 and 2195 are historical buildings that support the Caisson Section.
United was tasked with providing exterior masonry restoration to support the
restoration of these historical buildings. Scope of work included rebuilding
failed masonry walls, tuckpointing, masonry repairs at window and door
openings, brick replacement, and full façade cleaning.
