The Historic Southwestern Bell Telephone Company building in downtown San Antonio, Texas is a 16-story brick-clad building that was constructed in 1931. The building contains elaborate terra cotta detailing throughout the elevations around its windows and doors. Following a façade evaluation by Sparks Engineering, United was chosen to complete the extensive repairs. The full scope included; terra cotta replacement, terra cotta patching and glazing, shelf angle replacement, tuckpointing, masonry repair anchors, flashing, and historical cleaning. The monumental task of dismantling and rebuilding the large terra cotta arch that covers the main entrance of the building was completed to inspect and repair the supporting steel assembly.
