Huey P. Long Field House, on the campus of Louisiana State University in
Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was constructed in 1932. The field house is considered
the original student union and included a post office, ballroom, gymnasium and also featured the largest swimming pool in the United States at the time. Over time the structure began showing signs of deferred maintenance, leading to closure in the early 2000’s. Following a 20 year fundraising effort, the project was finally approved for construction. United’s scope included; exterior
cleaning, brick repair and replacement, masonry wall crack repair. structural
angle repair and replacement, cast stone repairs, flashing and sealants.
